UPDATE: Laurel County homicide victim identified
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man found shot to death in a Laurel County home this week has been identified just one day after his father killed himself at the end of a police chase.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year old Jared Lipscomb, of London, died from a single gunshot wound to the chest by a .45 caliber weapon.
He was found in a house where he lived with his father off Hunter’s Trace on March 20, 2017. That same day, his father, 55-year old Kenneth Lipscomb, of London, was named as a person of interest in the homicide and authorities began searching for him.
On March 21, a tip led investigators to Kenneth Lipscomb, who led authorities on a brief chase before he pulled into a field and shot himself to death with a .45 caliber weapon, according to deputies.
ABC 36 News asked investigators if there were any suspects in the homicide or if they thought Kenneth Lipscomb murdered his son. They told us no suspects had been named or motive released and that it was still under investigation.
