Headley-Whitney Museum of Art – “Art of Theft”

The Headley-Whitney Museum of Art was founded in 1968 by jewelry designer George Headley and his wife Barbara Whitney. The Museum has long been known for the bibelot collection, most of which were designed by George Headley. The Museum also does changing exhibits several times a year. In addition to the exhibitions and bibelots the Museum is home to the Shell Grotto which reopened last year after a period of restoration..”Art of the Theft” looks at our 1994 bibelot theft and other famous art thefts including the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Mona Lisa and the Scream.
