Student arrested following ‘soft’ lockdown in Anderson County
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (ANDERSON NEWS/WTVQ) — A middle school student was arrested after Anderson County Schools were placed on a ‘soft’ lockdown Tuesday.
According to the Anderson News, the lockdowns were at Anderson County Middle School and Saffell Street Elementary School.
The newspaper reports that a threatening message was found written on a bathroom wall that said someone “had a gun” and was going to “shoot everybody.”
Investigators told the newspaper the message was written by a 12-year old girl who goes to the middle school. She was arrested Tuesday. Her name wasn’t released because of her age.
The paper also reports another girl is being investigated for allegedly leaving a note in the same bathroom, also threatening to shoot up the school.
