LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Players meeting with agents, money-filled handshakes, loans are wiretaps.
It’s painted as the dark underbelly of college basketball.
The Yahoo! Sports report opening the eyes of the world to an unknown market of wrongdoing.
But perhaps there’s a way to avoid a future scandal.
Change the game.
Coach Cal threw out a few ideas Tuesday to the media. The main element? The players association should be heavily involved in his mind.
The main problem, Cal says, the NCAA moves slowly.
What’s right for a few may not be right for the many; so nothing is done.
Cal says that cannot and should not be the case this time around.
The players deserve help during the process.
It’s not going be perfect for every program.
As Cal says, this isn’t communism and action must be taken now.
