Council Passes Tentative Budget For Lexington
A tentative budget was approved for the city of Lexington Tuesday night.
The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council gave approval to a $289 million city budget, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader newspaper.
There are no tax increases or layoffs under the preliminary budget for the fiscal year 2013.
The budget includes pay raises for city employees up to 2.5%.
It also includes $1.25 million for a design study for Rupp Arena.
The budget needs two more readings before getting final approval.
Final approval is expected before June 30th, which is the last day of the fiscal year 2012.
