Fayette County man charged with child sexual exploitation offenses

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Fayette County man is currently charged with 25 counts of possession of material portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

26-year old Paul Fontana is in custody after Kentucky State Police arrested him Tuesday night.

In addition to charges of possessing sexual material relating to a minor, he is also charged with one count of distributing material portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

Each charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison.

The arrest was the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation that began when the KSP Crime Branch discovered Fontana sharing images of child  sexual exploitation online.

From the investigation a search warrant was executed for a Lexington residence.

Equipment used in the crime was found at the residence and taken into KSP custody for forensic examination.

The case is still under investigation.
