LPD: Suspect pepper sprays, pulls gun during robbery
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people were pepper sprayed during a robbery at a Lexington grocery store.
According to the Lexington Police Department, a man walked into the Kroger at Tates Creek Centre at around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, pushed the store clerk away from the cigarette display, grabbed cigarettes and ran.
Police say, as he was leaving the store, an employee and a customer approached him and the suspect pepper sprayed them both.
He then went out to the parking lot, grabbed a gun from his car and pointed it toward people who were standing outside the store, according to police.
The suspect then took off.
Police are still searching for him.
