Search for suspect after shooting in Letcher County

JEREMIAH, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say they are trying to find the person who shot a man in a Letcher County home Wednesday night.

Troopers say they responded to the home on Black Bottom Road at around 5:35 p.m. after receiving a call about a shooting.

They determined 45-year-old Eddie Collins, of Neon, went to the home where 52-year-old Denver Gibson was staying. The two started to fight and that’s when police say Collins pulled out a gun and shot Gibson.

Troopers say Collins left the scene in a purple Pontiac G6 passenger car.

Gibson was taken to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to the arm.

Investigators ask anyone with information on Collins’ whereabouts to contact them at (606) 435-6069.
