Update: Woman Critically Wounded In Shooting In Lexington
Lexington Police are looking for a man they said shot a woman several times who had had a previous relationship with him.
Officers said the suspect left the Swahili Elks Lodge on Versailles Road in a white Chevy Trailblazer. They are searching for him on the west side of Lexington, where his address is listed.
Investigators said the woman was critically wounded. She was rushed into surgery at UK Hospital.
Because of the seriousness of the woman’s injuries, the homicide unit has taken over the investigation.
Police said another person was grazed by a bullet, but wasn’t seriously injured.
Police said this happened shortly after 8:00 p.m. Friday.
No names have been released yet.
Officers said the suspect and victim were known to argue in their past relationship.
Police have questioned several witnesses in this case.
