Kentucky author Sue Grafton passes away after battle with cancer
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Louisville native and author has died after a two-year battle with cancer.
Sue Grafton, best known for her Kinsey Millhone alphabet books, died Thursday night at the age of 77.
Grafton graduated from the University of Louisville in 1977 with a degree in English Literature.
The first book in the Kinsey Millhone books, A is for Alibi, was released in 1982.The final book in the series, Z is for Zero, was scheduled to be released in 2019, but it remains unfinished.
Grafton’s daughter confirmed the news of her mother’s passing on Facebook, saying she would never have allowed for a ghostwriter.
The post reads, “As far as we in the family are concerned, the alphabet now ends at ‘Y.'”
Grafton’s books were published in 28 countries, in 26 different languages.
