Update: Names Released In Alleged Road Rage Shooting

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the people involved in an apparent road rage incident that let to the shooting of a truck driver.

Luster Rose, 54, is fighting for his life at UK Hospital after officials said he was shot by a man who was allegedly upset by his driving.

Officials said just before 8 p.m. Thursday, Rose was driving a semi on Highway 914, just south of Somerset.

Officials said Troy McAninch, 23, was riding in a pickup truck with his wife, Samantha, when she pulled out in front of Rose’s semi.

McAninch told investigators he got angry when Rose began to tailgate their vehicle, and when he later passed them.

When they came to a stop light, McAninch allegedly got out of the pickup, climbed onto the passenger side of the semi and began yelling obscenities at Rose.

Officials said Rose got out and confronted McAninch with a wooden club.

Officials said the argument escalated and McAninch eventually pulled out a gun and shot Rose four times.

Rose was flown to UK Hospital with what officials called life-threatening injuries.

McAninch was arrested and charged with assault.
