Three steps you can take to make your online holiday shopping more safe is make sure your computer software is up to date. Make sure the web browser you are using is also updated. Lastly, make sure your virus software is up to date so it can fight viruses the best it can.

As a consumer, be watching your credit card statement and making sure there aren’t extra charges on the credit card card you are using while online shopping. There are some websites consumers can use to verify a website and make sure they are safe to enter personal information into. SRI can help if you have been hacked because they have a digital investigator and that goes through computers and traces it back to the hacker.
