“That means something to me.”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The football Cats host Louisville Saturday in the Battle for the Governor’s Cup.  Kick-off is set for noon on the SEC Network.

It used to be played early, but with the in-state rivalry now the last regular season matchup on rivalry weekend, what is it about this game that changes the vibe around the program, win or lose?

How have the Cats improved this year?  Take what Kentucky looked like before Thanksgiving in 2016 and compare it to now.

How are things different for the better?  What’s the biggest area of growth?

On the other side of things, UofL head man Bobby Petrino has been through this rivalry during two different stints.

With the season seemingly in the drain for Louisville following up a great year in 2016 where the program added a Heisman Trophy winner in Lamar Jackson, this one with the Cats is big for every reason, every season.  No matter what.

Hear from Mark Stoops and Bobby Petrino in the video.
