Rick Pitino gives ESPN first interview since firing

LOUISVILLE Ky. (WTVQ/ESPN)-Former coach Rick Pitino talked to ESPN in detail about a federal investigation into the bribery of student-athletes was made public.

ESPN says Pitino had no knowledge of the payments to a recruit who later signed with Louisville.

They say that his lie detector test results prove he’s telling the truth.

Pitino told ESPN, “Should I have known that somebody walked into a hotel room; I don’t see how I could possibly know,” Pitino said.

Pitino was fired after a federal investigation into the bribery of student-athletes was made public.
