Pigs as Pets Banned in Georgetown

The ban makes it illegal to have any kind of livestock as a  pet within city limits.

Supporters say they’re concerned about health risks and bad odors.

Those against the ban say the animals are just as domesticated as a dog or cat.

The city ordinance states that if someone is found in possession of livestock, they have ten days to remove the animal.

If the animal is not removed in those ten days the city will impound the animal and charge the owner a twenty dollar fine.
