State Police looking for mailbox crasher

BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a car that crashed into mailboxes and drove off in Madison County.

Investigators say it happened on KY 1016 sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday.

The car took out seven mailboxes, including five on one post, according to KSP.

Investigators say the driver could have been distracted or perhaps impaired.

State Police say they know the car was silver, American-made and possibly a GM model because one of the side view mirrors was found at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call KSP Post 7 in Richmond at 859-623-2404 or toll-free 1-800-222-5555.
