Man arrested for burglary in Rowan County

MOREHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ) –Kentucky State Police contacted after man is found in home on KY 801.

A resident near the Sharkey Community in Rowan County contacted KSP on Sunday afternoon after finding a man inside a vacant residence he owned.

The suspect was identified as 27 year-old Daniel Austin, of Owingsville, Kentucky.

When troopers responded to the scene, Austin fled in his vehicle.

Troopers performed a traffic stop in which the suspect was arrested.

Stolen items were recovered from the scene.

Daniel Austin was charged with burglary in the third degree and two counts of wanton endangerment in the first degree.

The case remains under investigation.
