WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ)-Some people sticking it out in the rain are those who have reserved camping spots in Kentucky parks.

At Fort Boonesborough in Winchester, park managers say the weather is not putting a stop to Labor Day Weekend camping, but it is impacting it.

Managers have closed the Park’s Primitive Campsite because the Kentucky River, which is expected to crest to about 15 feet by Sunday.

Park Manager Rob Minerich says the park was fully booked for the weekend, but about 30 groups have since cancelled.

Minerich says there are still plenty of fun activities planned, and he thinks campers know the weather should be better Sunday and Monday.

He just hopes people will stay off the hiking trails until then.
