KSP: Mayfield Police shoot suspect

MAYFIELD, Ky. (WTVQ)- Kentucky State Police are investigating an officer involved shooting early Friday morning in Mayfield.

According to troopers, someone reported an armed man walking on West Lee Street at 3:00 a.m.

Mayfield Police say they found a man fitting the description nearby and, soon after, shots were fired. KSP says officers hit that man, 23-year-old Andrew Chamberlain. He was then airlifted to the hospital where he is now reportedly in stable condition.

KSP says its Critical Incident Response Team is investigating.
