Central Kentucky Computer Society – Snipping Tool

Our friends from the Central Kentucky Computer Society stopped by the studio to demonstrate how to use the “snipping tool” on Windows 10.  To find out more, see the step by step instructions below or  head over to their site ckcs.org.

1. First open your browser or document where there is something you want to copy. On my browser, I did a search for cherry pie.

2. Next, you open your snipping tool. It is usually located at the bottom of your screen on the task bar. If it is not there, you can easily find it by clicking on the search button and then typing in snipping tool. When you see it, just click on it.

3. This is the screen that will appear. Click on the word NEW and your screen will gray out. With your mouse, click and drag across the material that you want to copy. The area that you highlighted has been copied to the clipboard on your computer.

4. Now I am going to go to a word document that I have already started. Under the words on the document with your mouse you click on the screen. Next you right click with your mouse and then click on PASTE. The image you copied from the web page will appear in your word document.
