Harrison County man killed in motorcycle crash

NICHOLAS COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)-A crash between a jeep and a motorcycle leaves one person dead in Carlisle Saturday.

The Kentucky State Police say the accident happened around 8 PM Saturday night on US 68 in Nicholas County.

According to authorities 58 year old Douglas Barton of Cynthiana was riding a motorcycle going eastbound, when he attempted to make a left hand turn.

He crashed into a jeep heading west on the highway, hitting the passenger side front wheel well.

Police say Barton was wearing a helmet, but was pronounced dead on scene by the Nicholas County coroner as a result of his injuries.
