Former bank VP to spend time behind bars

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A former vice president of PBI Bank in Lexington was sentenced to two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to helping three other people fraudulently obtain over 2 point 1 million dollars from the bank.

45-year-old Joseph Tobin was charged with six counts of aiding and abetting bank fraud and one count of bank fraud.

Three others were previously sentenced for their roles in the fraud.

In addition to their prison sentences, the judge ordered the four defendants to pay restitution to four victimized banks.

Two suspects were ordered to pay over 2 point 6 million in restitution.

Tobin is responsible for over 185 thousand dollars and the other suspect, over 1 point 4 million
