Woodford Humane Society needs your help
VERSAILLES, Ky. (WTVQ)- There are only 6 days left to help the Woodford Humane Society reach their fundraising goal.
They are half way to their goal of $100,000 for their new Lucy Gay Bassett Memorial Fund.
The fund honors the legacy of the late Kentucky horsewoman who passed away in 2016 and aims to help the animals who come to Woodford Humane.
This fund will help with a variety of projects including animal care, enhancing play and training opportunities as well as providing better living space for the animals.
Lucy Gay Bassett, was a Lexington native who loved animals and was a longtime supporter of the Woodford Humane Society.
A group of anonymous Woodford County residents have offered to match $100,000 in funds to support the new memorial fund.
The deadline to raise the full amount is Saturday, July 22.
Woodford Humane is asking for the community’s help in achieving this one-time matching opportunity.
Donations of any amount, all the way up to $100,000, made to the Lucy Gay Bassett Memorial Fund by July 22 will qualify to be matched in full.
Donations may be made securely online at woodfordhumane.org or mailed to PO Box 44, Versailles, KY 40383.
