Shelters Unite To Make Dog Adoption Easier

A handful of groups teamed up today to help solve a growing problem.

Owen County Friends of the Animals, Anderson County Humane Society, Franklin County Humane Society, L.I.F.E. House for Animals, and Woodford Humane Society gathered in Frankfort to rally against pet overpopulation.

Organizers say they regularly see an abundance of pit bulls and other dogs from what they call "bully breeds" in their shelters and they’re hoping they can educate people with events like this in addition to making adoptable dogs readily available.
