Future Cat earns 2nd Gatorade Athlete of Year Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A future Wildcat continues to garner national attention.

Sydney McLaughlin out of Union Catholic in New Jersey is a track phenom and she’s once again the Gatorade national athlete of the year.

A big honor for her no doubt.  It’s her second straight female athlete of the year honor.

She’s been a champion at many levels and will represent the United States.

She’s thankful for her parents and coaches…and for what this award stands for in particular.

It means a little more than just being great on the track.
