Man Dies From Bicycle Accident Injuries

A man is dead after his bicycle was involved in an accident earlier this week while he was on a cross country cycling trip that passed through Jackson County.

Oliver Scheideman, Jr., 71, of Chico California was taking part in the cycling trip when he lost control of his bicycle on Kentucky highway 3445 on Monday.

Police say no other bicycles or other vehicles were involved. The fayette county coroner says Scheideman died Thursday from his injuries at UK Medical Center.
