Car break-ins caught on tape in Lexington neighborhood
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – People in a Lexington neighborhood hope security camera video will help police after a series of car break-ins and attempted thefts were caught on camera.
It happened in the Palomar Hills area in the early morning hours of Thursday.
Lexington Police say thieves were checking door handles to see if vehicles were locked on Mangrove Drive around 3:45 a.m.
Neighbor Keven Moore tells ABC 36 News that at least five of his neighbors were hit.
“A gentleman I know by the name of Rob posted that he saw some people at 3:45 in the morning, 4-or-5 individuals with flashlights and he encountered them and they hopped in a car and took off. So, I pulled up my security cameras and sure enough, at that time or four or five minutes before that, I can see where they were actually going house-to-house looking in every unlocked vehicle they can find,” Moore said.
Moore told us he bought the security camera because of a past car break-in.
