Corbin firefighter recovering from stroke suffered at fire station
CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Corbin firefighter is recovering after suffering a stroke while on duty in the fire station.
The Corbin Fire Department posted online this weekend that Captain Doug Brock started showing signs of a stroke on Friday while working an overtime shift.
Captain Brock’s fellow firefighters immediately began treating him and called an ambulance. He was eventually airlifted to Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Captain Brock’s wife posted an update on Sunday saying her husband had begun speaking sentences slowly and took a small walk with a physical therapist.
