Hundreds Attend Vigil For Fallen Bardstown Police Officer

It was a somber sight in front of the Bardstown Police Station Monday night as hundreds attended a candlelight vigil for officer Jason Ellis, who was killed in the line of duty Saturday night.

Ellis’s family was in attendance at the vigil.

Dozens dropped off flowers, candles and other mementos on top of Ellis’s cruiser, which was parked in front of the police station.

It’s been two days since Officer Ellis was ambushed and killed while on his way home from work Saturday night.

Police still have no leads, however Bardstown Police Chief Rick McCubbin says his office will not rest until they bring to justice those involved in the death of his officer.
