“We always dreamed.”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Everyone involved with horse racing wants to win the Kentucky Derby.

It’s the sport’s biggest stage and also sets up a potential Triple Crown bid.

Always Dreaming looked just fine following the Run for the Roses.

Trainer Todd Pletcher took Super Saver to the Preakness Stakes after winning his first Kentucky Derby.

It wasn’t meant to be in 2010.

Super Saver finished 8th at Pimlico and didn’t head to Belmont.

That said, plans are for Always Dreaming to ship out Tuesday for Baltimore.

Owner Vinny Viola said he and his partner, Anthony Bonomo, fell in love with horse racing at an early age.

So winning the Kentucky Derby is a dream come true.  Fitting it was with Always Dreaming.

Viola said after the race on Saturday, this one is for the dreamers.

Hear from Pletcher and Viola in the video.
