Thousands head to Keeneland to celebrate the derby closer to home
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- You didn’t have to be at Churchill Downs to take part in the fun.
Keeneland hosted those who wanted to have a good time without going too far from home.
Thousands of people headed to the track for live music, a hat contest, and of course to watch the derby.
Alicia and Chloe Livers were out enjoying the Keeneland derby festivities:”it’s a great time. It’s not so crowded, family friendly, it has a lot of kids stuff which we really enjoy.”
Ian Silger was enjoying the derby festivities as well: “Keeneland is where we love to come, it’s so gorgeous and everything. It has a much nicer theme to it.”
Some of the people at Keeneland said they also like it because they can choose whether they want to dress up or go with a more casual look.
