Russian media: 10 dead in subway blast

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (AP)- Reports from the Associated Press say an explosion in a St. Petersburg subway has killed at least 10 people.

A spokesperson for Kremlin says Vladimir Putin is aware of the explosions and offers his condolences to victims and their families. Putin was in St. Petersburg earlier Monday but it’s unclear whether or not the Russian leader was still in the city at the time of the explosion.

According to to reports, authorities in Moscow have tightened security at subway stations in reaction to the blast.
