Bluegrass Harvest Food Initiative

Sandy Canon, President of Bluegrass Harvest, and Liz Fowler, President/CEO of Bluegrass Care Navigators, drop by the studio to tell Katie Solove about their local food initiative.

Bluegrass Harvest is a community supported agriculture program (CSA) that helps farmers increase and stabilize their annual revenue while improving healthy food access for consumers. CSA’s are a weekly box of locally grown produce provided at specific price points by local farms looking for new ways to reach clients and potential markets.  Bluegrass Harvest is helping farmers connect with those individuals by helping link them to self-insured employers. With the advent of the Affordable Care Act, those employers are looking for ways to rein in healthcare costs.
