KSP investigating after deadly shooting involving Owsley Co. deputy

BOONEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are investigating after an Owsley County deputy fatally shot a suspect while responding to a domestic dispute call.

Troopers say the shooting happened at about 11:00 p.m. at a home on Booneville Home Road.

Police say when deputies arrived to investigate the dispute, they encountered a suspect armed with a knife inside the home.

At that time, officers say shots were fired, and the suspect was killed.

The identities of the deputy and the suspect have not been released.
