Grand jury to consider Pike Co. shooting case

MILLARD, Ky. (WTVQ) – No charges have been filed yet, after a shooting that injured a woman in Pike County on Saturday, March 18th.

State Police say, around 12:30 a.m., they received a 911 call from 59-year-old Terry Runyon, saying that he had shot Joanna Looney.  Just a few minutes later, investigators say they received another 911 call from Looney herself, saying she had been shot.

A preliminary investigation shows that Looney drove to Runton’s home, and at some point while there, Runyon fired a gun and ended up hitting her.  Troopers say Looney then drove to a nearby BP gas station and called 911.  EMS ended up taking her to the Pikeville Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The case is being presented to a grand jury for consideration.
