St. Patrick’s Day Performance – Kentucky United Pipes & Drums

Eric Burke is joined by Pipe Major Maria Roberts, with Kentucky United Pipes & Drums (KUPD,) who talks about their St. Patrick’s Day appearances in Lexington this weekend, before kicking off an in-studio performance!

Based in Lexington, Kentucky, the non-profit KUPD is led by Roberts and drum sergeant Rick Clayburn. The band was formed in 2003 from a nucleus of local pipers and drummers who wanted to improve their playing skills, compete at Highland Games and educate people about the deep historic tradition of music from the British Isles as performed on the bagpipe.

Over the St.Patrick’s Day Weekend, Kentucky United will be playing Friday, March 17, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Shamrocks in Lexington, and Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at The Paddy Wagon, in Richmond, KY.
