Governor appoints Lexington attorney to Circuit Court bench
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington attorney is the newest Fayette Circuit Court judge following an appointment by the governor.
Thomas Travis, who was with the Lexington law firm of Ward, Hocker & Thornton, will now serve in the 22nd Judicial Circuit, Division 8.
Travis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Kentucky and graduated from the UK College of Law.
He has more than 29-years experience as an attorney practicing primarily in the circuit courts as a civil litigator.
“I am honored by Governor Bevin’s selection of me to serve as the next Judge in the Fayette Circuit Court,” said Travis. “I look forward to getting to work for the citizens of Fayette County.”
Travis will serve until the position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2018 midterm election.
