Winchester YMCA to Close

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – A letter from the Winchester YMCA Board of Directors says that the facility at 645 Westmeade Drive will close permanently on Friday, December 16th at 5:00 p.m.

The letter cites declining membership and donations, as well as an unfavorable economic climate, as reasons for the decision to close.  Additionally, the letter says that the costs of maintaining the aging facility made long-term operation untenable.

The YMCA will continue to run the youth basketball league through the end of the season on Friday, February 17, 2017.  After-school chilcare will end on Friday, December 30th.
