2 Die in Elliott Co. House Fire

SANDY HOOK, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are investigating after two people died in a house fire early Wednesday morning.

Troopers say they were called to Waggoner Road in Elliot County just after 1:30 a.m.

According to the Elliott County Coroner, the victims were found in the home, and were pronounced dead just before 2:00 a.m.

The remains have been sent to Frankfort for an autopsy and positive identification.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined, though officials say they do not suspect foul play.
