“Suspicious” Fire Burns Richmond Apartment
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Three people are out of their apartment in Richmond after a fire, considered suspicious, breaks out overnight.
The fire started at the Robinson Terrace apartments on Robinson Terrace Drive at around 1 a.m.
Firefighters say this is being investigated as a possible arson.
They did not say why they consider is suspicious.
The fire chief says the residents came home and spotted smoke.
By the time firefighters arrived, there were flames.
They quickly knocked it down.
The fire damage was contained to one room of the apartment.
There is water and smoke damage in the rest of the apartment though.
Luckily the fire did not spread to the rest of the complex.
Three people who live in the apartment – a woman and two children – were not hurt.
Fire investigators are expected to be on the scene Wednesday, trying to determine what caused the fire.
