Woman Accused of Writing $10,000+ In Fake Checks
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington woman is in trouble for depositing thousands of dollars worth of checks into bank accounts around Lexington.
Police say 39-year-old Dimitra McKissic used another woman’s identity to open accounts around town.
She was able to get debit cards and personal checks on those accounts.
Court documents say McKissic would deposit the bogus checks into the accounts, raising the available balance, then withdraw the money from various ATM’s.
Documents say she cost the banks more than $10,000.
