Man Arrested, Another Injured, After Franklin Co. Shooting

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton says that a man is behind bars after a shooting on Bald Knob Road that sent another man to the hospital.

Deputies say they were called to a home early Friday morning, just after midnight, in reference to a shooting.

Deputies say they were told that the shooting was accidental.

Both men involved, Ernest Hensley – the shooter – and the unidentified victim were reportedly intoxicated.  The victim had a gunshot wound to the back and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Deputies say when they ran the firearm through dispatch it came back stolen.

Hensley was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault, and receiving stolen property.

He was taken to the Franklin County Detention Center.
