UPDATE: I-75 Reopens in Scott County
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – All southbound lanes of I-75 in Scott County reopened late Tuesday afternoon after one lane was closed all day as crews cleaned up a semi collision from the night before.
Georgetown Police say a semi driver who was driving north on I-75 Monday evening lost control around mile marker 143, went over a hill in the median and t-boned another semi that was headed in the opposite direction.
Both semi drivers were airlifted to UK Hospital in Lexington with serious injuries, according to investigators.
Southbound lanes were closed Monday evening, finally reopening around midnight.
One southbound lane was closed again at nine Tuesday morning so the crash scene could be cleaned-up.
The collision left a large debris field that had to be cleared.
