KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Pike County

BELFRY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a man is dead after a wreck in Pike County Thursday afternoon.

A preliminary investigation shows that a driver headed north on US 119 lost control of her GMC Envoy and hit a tree in the Belfry community.

A passenger in the Envoy, 70-year-old Terry May suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at Pikeville Medical Center by the Pike County Coroner.

Investigators say May was not wearing a seat belt when the crash happened.  They also say they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the wreck.
