Police make arrest in vehicle shootings that injured 2

LA GRANGE, Ky. (AP) – Police say they’ve arrested a suspect in three shootings that injured two people in Oldham County.

Oldham County Police said in a statement that 35-year-old Norman E. Dick of Goshen was arrested Wednesday morning in Louisville and charged with five counts of attempted murder.

He is accused of shooting at three occupied vehicles Tuesday evening in successive incidents. The first was struck near the intersection of Highway 53 and Highway 22, the second was hit near the intersection of Highway 393 and Interstate 71 and the third was hit on Interstate 71 near the Oldham-Jefferson county line. Police say an adult and a juvenile received minor injuries in the second shooting. No injuries were reported in the other shootings.

Online jail records don’t say whether Dick has an attorney.

Sgt. James Brown told WRDB-TV (http://bit.ly/2fCEKy8) that in all three instances, a red or maroon car began tailing the vehicles before the shootings occurred.

Police are urging any witnesses to the shootings to come forward with information.
