Car Crashes into Lexington Business

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A driver did major damage to a Lexington store overnight.

Police say a driver was going down Squires Road toward Eastland Drive at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, went over a curb, through a parking lot, then right into Shamrock Bluegrass Mart.

Police say the driver smashed the back window out of the car, crawled out and then ran off.

There is no word on the estimated damage but the owner says he does not expect to reopen for at least five days.

Officers say the owner of the car has been found, who says his grandson was the last person to drive the car, but police have not been able to confirm if the grandson is responsible for the crash.
