Crash on Old Richmond Road Kills One

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Coroner has identified a person who was killed in a wreck on Old Frankfort Road on Tuesday.

According to the coroner’s report, 64-year-old Hubert Wolfinbarger died of multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash.

Investigators say they believe a pickup truck tried to pass a tractor, but the driver ended up crashing into the tractor, then veered off and hit a fence before overturning.

Wolfinbarger, a passenger in the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, and a person on the tractor were injured.

The coroner says Wolfinbarger was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

Police say passing on a narrow road can be dangerous.

“This road in particular is very narrow, [with] a lot of blind curves.” says Sergeant Randall Combs.  “Those yellow lines are marked for no passing because you don’t have a clear line of sight for the cars that are coming toward you.”

The crash closed part of Old Richmond Road at Evans Mill Road.
