Four Arrested in Suspect Robbery on EKU’s Campus

RICHMOND, Ky (WTVQ)-EKU Police have made four arrests after an attempted burglary early Sunday morning.

Zachary Beaton, Darious Bryant, Shyheim Lee, and Dashawn Moncrease are all charged with burglary. Lee also faces a criminal mischief charge and Moncrease faces several other charges including wanton endangerement and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

None of the suspects are students at EKU.

Public safety sent out a campus alert Sunday morning after a report that someone tried to break into an apartment at the Grand Campus complex.

A spokeswoman for EKU says the suspect said he had a gun and threatened to shoot the door, then left. EKU Police questioned some suspects and learned there was no more threat. The campus sent out an all clear about 30 minutes after the first alert.
