Steering malfunction blamed for Whitley Co. wreck

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – A crash in Whitley County on Saturday has left a woman fighting for her life.

The Whitley County Sheriff says a Chevy truck was traveling northbound on US 25 when its steering locked.

The truck hit another car head on.

That car’s driver, 53-year-old Tammy Chapman had to be airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition.

The truck driver and her passenger were also taken to the hospital, but have been released.
