UPDATE: Victim in stabbing near EKU not cooperating with investigation

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) –  Richmond police say a man who was found stabbed near EKU, prompting a campus safety alert, is not being cooperative.

According to the Richmond Register, the stabbing happened at around 3:00 a.m. Monday morning in the area of South Second Street, near Wellington Court.

The newspaper says he was stabbed at least twice and was found near the corner of Madison and Summit Streets.

He was taken to UK.

No word on his condition

Eastern Kentucky University issued an alert following a stabbing Monday morning near campus.

Richmond police say they found the victim with multiple stab wounds in the area of Madison and Summit, but police say they are not sure where the stabbing happened.

An alert was sent out to the EKU campus at around 5:40 a.m. The university sent an “All Clear” at 6:27 a.m. saying there was no more emergency.

Police have not released any further details on the stabbing or possible suspect information.
